República Awarded 2016 Top Entrepreneurial Award From The Greater Miami Chamber Of Commerce

Miami Chamber Recognizes República’s Entrepreneurial Success in the "South Florida & Beyond" category

MIAMI — February 29, 2016 — República, one of America’s leading independent cross-cultural advertising, digital and communications agencies, today announced that the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce has bestowed the company with the 2016 Top Entrepreneurial Award in the “South Florida & Beyond” category. The category recognizes businesses that originated and remain headquartered in South Florida and have been successful in growing their company or brand in outside markets, either nationally or internationally.

Founded in 2006, República has grown into a multidisciplinary agency serving a national and international roster of blue-chip clients across branding, advertising, media planning and buying, digital, and public relations practice areas. A leader in multicultural marketing, the agency was recently named a Top Place to Work in Marketing and Public Relations in the U.S. by PR News. In addition, República recently received Corporate Plus® designation from the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC).

“República is proud to receive the Greater Miami Chamber’s Top Entrepreneurial Award for South Florida and beyond — an honor we share with our employees and our clients,” said Jorge A. Plasencia, co-founder, chairman and CEO of República. “As we approach our 10th anniversary, it was a privilege to have had a group of our team members on stage with me to accept the award as it truly belongs to the whole agency,” added Plasencia.

The Top Entrepreneurial Awards celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit and rich cultural diversity of South Florida and honor the three key components for entrepreneurial success: risk, passion and persistence. This year’s awards were sponsored by Bank of America and presented at the Rusty Pelican in Key Biscayne, Fla.

“The Top Entrepreneurial Award for República is a testament to the agency’s extraordinary achievements, leadership and vision,” said Barry E. Johnson, president and CEO of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. “Jorge, Luis and the team have built a remarkable company and we are so proud that their success story transcends Miami’s borders,” said Johnson.
