eMerge Americas Selects República As Its Digital Marketing And Social Media Agency

MIAMI — February 22, 2016 — eMerge Americas, the premier B2B technology conference connecting leading technology companies with business and government leaders from North America, Latin America and Europe, has selected Miami-based República, one of America’s leading independent cross-cultural advertising, digital and communications agencies, as its digital marketing and social media agency of record. República will develop a digital marketing and social media strategy aimed at building eMerge Americas’ online community and broadening awareness for the annual eMerge Americas conference, which will take place in Miami, Florida, from April 18-19 this year.

“República is a cutting-edge agency with standout expertise in many sectors including tech, and they have helped build brands across many cultural demographics – this makes them the ideal partner for eMerge,” said Xavier González, CEO of eMerge Americas. “We’re excited to work with the agency’s team to expand our messaging footprint as we lead up to our biggest year yet.”

Digital, mobile and social have been at República’s core since its inception in 2006. The agency has also played a pivotal role in Miami’s tech and start-up movement, including being one of the first companies to sign up with and hire the first coding apprentice from LaunchCode, a tech job-placement nonprofit founded by Square co-founder Jim McKelvey. In 2015, República partnered with the Idea Center and the Knight Foundation to launch MarketHack, a groundbreaking digital marketing course at Miami Dade College.

“As a digital native agency, we are proud to be partnering with eMerge Americas, a catalyst in the movement of making Miami the tech hub for the hemisphere,” said Jorge A. Plasencia, República co-founder, chairman and CEO. “Since the first day Manny Medina visited us and shared his vision for eMerge, we were sold that this event would become iconic,” added Plasencia.

Now in its third year, the 2016 event will feature a comprehensive series of networking events and summits, as well as notable keynote speakers including General Colin L. Powell, Armando Christian Perez (aka Pitbull), Steve Case and Tony Hawk, among others.
