Chivas Regal Embodied the Spirit of Camaradrie at the 2011 Antigua Sailing Week

MIAMI–(May 23, 2011) – Chivas Regal, the world’s original luxury Scotch whisky, and one of Pernod Ricard Americas Travel Retail’s finest spirit brands, celebrated the spirit of camaraderie as the premier Diamond sponsor of the 2011 Antigua Sailing Week (ASW), which took place from April 24-29, 2011.

In its second year of participation, the luxury whisky brand brought to life its “Live with Chivalry” campaign at this year’s regatta. Distributors and contest winners from around the globe participated at this year’s event, which included more than 2,000 sailors from 16 different countries and 100 yachts.

Increasing its support to from Gold to Diamond sponsor, the luxury whisky maker organized numerous brand experiences and whisky tastings, including an array of VIP events such as the Captain’s Cocktail. The old-world Copper and Lumber Hotel’s interior courtyard was transformed into the chic Chivas VIP lounge, creating the perfect networking atmosphere for VIPs, organizers and sponsors.

“Antigua Sailing Week embodies all the qualities that Chivas Regal believes in and allows us to highlight our brand’s shared values with the courageous participants of this prestigious regatta,” said Quique Girones, Marketing and Trade Marketing VP, PRATR. “We’re very proud to once again partner with one of the world’s premier sailing events, and salute the teams from all corners of the globe who participated in this challenging week.”

The week long musical celebrations reached an epic high when rock n’ roll band and British-Jamaican sensation, Maxi Priest, took the stage at Shirley Heights, one of Antigua’s highest peaks, for a one-night performance. Centrally located at the event, the Chivas VIP tent offered guests a prime location to enjoy the night’s musical performances.

“Chivas Regal’s sponsorship has allowed us to add allure and acclaim to our globally recognized event, and we look forward to partnering with them again in 2012”, said Ian Fraser, Chairman of Antigua Sailing Week.
