Sun Life Stadium to Host International Soccer Featuring FC Barcelona and CD Guadalajara as Part of the 2011 Herbalife World Football Challenge

FC Barcelona, the 2011 UEFA Champions League finalist, will face one of Mexico’s most popular clubs, CD Guadalajara as part of the 2011 Herbalife World Football Challenge, at Sun Life Stadium on Wednesday, August 3rd at 8:00 p.m. (ET). This is the first time ever FC Barcelona has played in South Florida.
FC Barcelona is considered to be one of the best clubs in the world. Barca has won every single competition they have played in at least once during the last five years including La Liga, UEFA Champions League, Spain’s Copa del Rey and the FIFA Club World Cup.

CD Guadalajara, widely known as Chivas, is one of the most recognized teams in the Americas and the most successful club in Mexico. The club has won 11 professional championships in Mexico’s First Division, a CONCACAF Champions Cup, and were runners-up in South America’s top club championship, Copa Libertadores. All of Chivas’ players are Mexican, which is a characteristic no other team in that league possesses.
