Art Director-Full Time and Freelance

The Art Director is a mid-level position in the creative department and is responsible for ideating and executing original ideas using graphic design software such as Photoshop, InDesign or Illustrator. This role requires at least three years of experience at an in-house or advertising agency. They must have experience working on a wide range of projects using innovative graphic designs, typography and illustrations that meet the client’s brief requirements and brand guidelines. The candidate must be able to bring ideas to life and follow direction from more senior team members in order to achieve flawless execution of advertising campaigns. In order to be successful at this role the candidate must meet the following requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Advertising, Fine arts or related field
  • Must have a keen eye for detail and the ability to build creative and unique ideas
  • Work with the senior team members to establish appropriate creative directions
  • Generate clear ideas and work from concept to final execution in tandem with the Copywriter
  • Generating original visual executions that are both exciting and creatively attractive
  • A track record of inventive and compelling design work experience as Art Director
  • Ability to work on several projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and meet project deadlines without compromising creativity, quality, consistency and accuracy
  • Understand marketing initiatives, strategic positioning and target audience
  • Work in collaboration with other team members on advertising campaigns and accept/incorporate teams’ feedback into the final design
  • Exhibit ability to enhance and push work further from creative feedback
  • A flexible approach and willingness to adapt ideas to the needs of clients
  • Must be able to clearly communicate and execute ideas to more senior team members
  • Experience with logo design, typography, color, creation of branding elements, print collateral, digital assets, web layout design, print production and image selection, etc.
  • Understands and meets deadlines
  • Team player with strong communication, confidence and presentation skills to communicate your ideas and sell them to peers
  • Working with senior designers and art directors to establish new skills and insights
  • Staying abreast of new media formats and learning how to incorporate them into campaigns
  • Awareness of evolving platforms and maintaining best practices
  • Proficient skills with design software such as InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Animation skills preferred but not required
