Creative Resource Manager

The Creative Resource Manager is responsible for resourcing and managing the workflow within the resource management tool. The Creative Resource Manager partners with the Director of Creative Services, Project Managers and Account Managers to assign sufficient and suitable resources to projects, balance workloads, source for freelancers and resolve resource conflicts across a large group of creatives and studio resources.
This role requires 10 years of progressive success in digital and traditional project management experience in both an agency and in-house capacity. The Creative Resource Manager should be organized and have a strong knowledge of project management methodologies, concepts and file delivery. They must be able to pivot, switch-focus and remain motivated in a fast-paced environment.

 

They must be a strong communicator, team leader and adept at managing relationships with stakeholders at all levels. In order to be successful at this role the candidate must meet the following requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Communications, Fine Arts or related field
  • 10 years in an agency or in-house experience in a resource or project management role
  • Solid knowledge of the creative workflow process
  • Comfortable working in a fluid environment
  • Understand complex project requirements, briefs and recognize potential risks and dependencies relevant to resourcing
  • Experienced in resource planning, allocation and assigning
  • Flexible, collaborative and a trusted confidant
  • Extraordinary communication and social skills
  • Requires a high level of patience, diplomacy and a strong voice in a creative and dynamic environment
  • Extraordinary communication skills, organizational skills, and people management skills
  • Build strong rapport with members of the department you support, in addition to partnering with functional and operations leadership and/or key contacts
  • Host check-ins with key stakeholders to ensure efficient assignment of all projects, identify excessive or under-utilization of talent and solve any potential resource gap areas
  • Lead weekly resource meetings reviewing and presenting a slate of incoming work
  • Expert at balancing workload across internal teams and freelancers
  • Shift and balance priorities based on the overall volume of work as necessary
  • Mediate resource sharing issues with functional leads
  • Resolve issues and solve problems throughout the entire project life cycle from briefing to final asset delivery
  • Shape resource management tools, systems and templates – constantly striving to improve processes and workflow standardization
  • Serve as system administrator for the creative project management tool and continually make improvements that make the department more efficient and accomplish a seamless end-user experience
  • Facilitate monthly reporting to highlight the number of projects & deliverables, hours invested in projects and overall project cost through the resource management tool
