Account Director

The Account Director will serve as leader, strategic partner, and problem-solver for client needs and opportunities through high-level client strategy on media campaigns, overseeing profitability of accounts, and successfully growing the business.

You will assist in leading the development of holistic campaign management, including off and online integration, and will bring value to the business through a wide range of ideas and solutions, proven leadership and day-to-day managements of accounts, and participation in larger strategy and cross-channel initiatives for clients. In addition, the Account Director will mentor, train and develop junior members of the Integrated Client Services Team.

Client Management 

  • Engage independently with clients in all aspects of client management 
  • Develop, execute and measure a media strategy for traditional, hybrid, brand and retail clients autonomously 
  • Interpret multiple data sets and translate into ingestible meaningful output for inclusion in client presentations 
  • Lead clients by clearly communicating insights and how they apply to their media strategy with roadmaps that include a comprehensive learning agenda and the tools needed to measure this plan • Understand, explain, and utilize internal tools effectively (i.e. Our attribution and RAMP offerings that differentiate Edge from other agencies) 
  • Develop and manage strong relationships with key decision makers both internally and externally • Work with Executive team on client financial and revenue management Business and Client Development 
  • Create well thought out media strategy pitches to present to new business clients 
  • Recommend mediums beyond linear TV to clients when and where applicable 
  • Participate in speaking engagements as needed to develop, educate and share content within Edge’s Performance Network or at industry events 
  • Work effectively across various internal teams to lead and/or support client management and new business efforts Leadership, Internal Training and Communication 
  • Actively train and develop Client Strategy Team members • Serve as role model to team members in knowledge base, presentation skills, internal communication style and commitment to bettering the agency 
  • Key contributor in building committed relationships within Edge and consistently promote the shared goals of the department and team leader 
  • Support department vision by being highly responsive, interactive and collaborative with managers across Media Buying, Analytics, DOQS, Human Resources and Business Development

 

Position Requirements: 

  • Minimum 7-8 years’ experience in account management; media, performance marketing or direct response (TV or internet) experience required 
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience leading and managing a team; directly or indirectly 
  • You are experienced in account management and have proven success in establishing, building, and maintaining relationships with clients 
  • You have demonstrated success in “owning” high-quality programs that have provided measurable and meaningful results 
  • You have experience in participating or leading presentations, talking with clarity and confidence to clients and team members, and writing concise presentations and proposals 
  • You enjoy leading teams and have previous experience training and developing junior staff 
  • You can manage multiple projects with short timelines in a fast-paced dynamic environment and experienced in managing projects from concept to completion 
  • You work well under pressure, while maintaining accuracy, strict confidentiality, and a professional demeanor 
  • You enjoy interacting with people at all levels of the organization (internal and external stakeholders) and fostering strong cross-functional teamwork 
  • You have outstanding written and oral communications skills and the ability to think strategically • You have a high level of attention to detail and organization 
  • You have a desire and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment 
  • You are self-motivated and productive in both independently and in a collaborative team setting 

 

Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business or related field of study preferred 
  • You are advanced in Microsoft PowerPoint (i.e. deck building) and Microsoft Excel (i.e. Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs), with the ability to analyze data and draw conclusive insights 
  • You have a strong understanding around media buying, traffic, data operations, invoicing, sourcing, and analytics 
  • You have prior work experience directly supporting larger, retained clients
